6 Non-Traditional Things To Celebrate In Your Twenties And Thirties

Why are the only milestones we celebrate birthdays, graduations, buying property, getting married or having kids? Lets stop glorifying these societal norms by celebrating some other successes in our lives!

1. Quitting a job that makes you unhappy

A personal one to me, but making this kind of big life decisions is really not easy. I don’t think we recognise things like this enough.

    2. Moving to a new place

Out of the city, to the city, to Australia (we all have that one friend).

    3. A Pay-rise

Fuck a promotion, lets celebrate any pay-rise we can get in this economy.

Sidenote: the only entity that benefits from us not being transparent about our pay is our employer. We should talk about money more.

    4. Not being pregnant

For the girls who would consider themselves teenage mums at thirty years old. Why brush a scare under the rug when you could boogie the anxiety it caused you away!

PS. I’m obviously not trying to make light of those who struggle with infertility.

    5. The clocks changing

We made it through the deep dark depths of the winter to longer days? Sounds like something to celebrate to me.

    6. Running a marathon

Since everyone seems to be making that a personality trait this year. Personally I’d rather throw an anti-running party but whatever floats your boat.

What do you want to celebrate that’s out of the ordinary? Add to the list in the comments!
