My 18th Birthday in 2017
  1. Your curiosity is a gift, not an annoyance.
  2. You will never regret being kind.
  3. Sometimes you’re stronger in asking for help than you are continuing to struggle by yourself.
  4. Life is more enjoyable believing in the best of people.
  5. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
  6. We’re all mad here.
  7. It’s normal to feel lonely. Acknowledge it, be kind to yourself and plan things to combat it.
  8. You are not responsible for other peoples actions, but you have a responsibility to set and uphold boundaries that protect you.
  9. Don’t ignore risks, but don’t live your life in fear.
  10. Just keep trying, because what if it does get better?
  11. Your emotions are not a burden. You will learn, grow and be happier for experiencing them.
  12. Laughter is the best medicine. Keep people close that make you laugh.
  13. Know the power of apologising but don’t apologise for existing.
  14. Clothes should fit you, not the other way around. If it doesn’t fit, get rid.
  15. Your body does so much for you – Value it for more than how it looks.
  16. Book buying is a very different hobby to book reading.
  17. You can be healthy and have an active lifestyle without going to the gym 4 times a week or running 5km every Saturday. Move in a way you enjoy.
  18. Spend more time outside experiencing awe.
  19. You define what success looks like for you.
  20. All that productivity advice isn’t meant for you and your brain.
  21. If you are googling am I depressed, you are probably depressed
  22. You are so much stronger than you know.
  23. No one knows you better than you do.
  24. Make the most of where you’re at, because you will only get to do this once.
